There are several bed and breakfasts and small homes with room to rent that can give you the authentic and timeless feel of the French Quarter. Many of the B and B’s were built before the turn of the century and are furnished with antiques and period pieces. They are sprinkled around the French Quarter and surrounding neighborhoods and are close to all the nightlife, dining and history that New Orleans has to offer. We’ve listed a few of the best Bed and Breakfasts and some information about them to help you make an informed decision about where th best place to stay for you might be.
Dauphine House: We’ll start with the Dauphine House, which is not located in the French Quarter, but in the Faubourg Marigny. A historic neighborhood that borders the French Quarter. You’ll still be in easy walking distance of all the sites and restaurants and yet have a beautiful Bed and Breakfast experience. The Dauphine has all the modern amenities including microwaves and small refrigerators in each of the rooms.
Coccinelle: This is probably not truly a bed and breakfast, but is still truly an amazing, and uniquely New Orleans experience. The property consists of a converted slave quarters behind the main house. This gives them two beautiful guest rooms that overlook their very New Orleans courtyard, and have their own separate entrances for privacy.
